John and I were close friends and served in the same unit in Vietnam. He kept in touch through the years, and is a man I admired as a friend and co-veteran. In part, my friends and I were responsible for talking him out of reupping, and I guess that decision paid off. I will miss his calls and our chats. RIP Sergeant!
