John K. Sheehy Sr.

Concord, NH - John K. Sheehy Sr., age 90, of Clinton Street, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 16, 2025.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Bryan Sheehy Sr. and Catherine (O'Brien) Sheehy. He received his bachelor's degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City.

John served in the US Navy during the Korean War. He worked for the New York City Police Department for 20 years, retiring as Detective Third Class in 1975. Following his retirement, he worked for the State of NH as a Forensic Crime Expert for over 20 years, retiring in 1995.

He enjoyed traveling, photography and audio video. He volunteered at the Granite VNA Hospice House for over 15 years.

John was lucky enough to find two great loves in his life, he was predeceased by his first wife, Terese (Drum) Sheehy who passed away in 2001, and his second wife Martha Verville Sheehy who passed away in 2023; additionally, he was predeceased by his sister, Eileen Mueller and brother Bryan Sheehy Jr.

He is survived by his son, Peter K Sheehy and his wife Lou Ann of Hooksett; daughter, Maureen A. Macdonald and her husband John of Belmont; and son John K. Sheehy Jr. and his wife Melissa of Concord; 10 grandchildren, Catherine, Maryann, and Megan Macdonald, Erin Lynch, Allan Sheehy, Bryan Sheehy, Tia Blackman, Todd Therien, Jake Sheehy, and Makayla Bourbeau; several great grandchildren, and 2 Great Great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Patrick and Michael Sheehy of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, November 23rd from 3 to 6 PM at the Waters Funeral Home, 50 South Main Street, Concord, NH 03301.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 24th at 12 Noon at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 180 Loudon Road, Concord, NH.

Burial will follow at 2 PM in the NH Veteran's Cemetery, DW Highway, Boscawen.

All my sympathy goes to the family. It was an honor and a privilege to share the time I had with Mr. Johnny. I loved him but I do know he is in a much better place with no more pain.
