Not sure what to say?

John Shepard was a loving , kind and generous man. I feel a personal loss as we had a long friendship and professional relationship. My condolences to all the family. He left a legacy for all of us to emulate

This morning I was saddened to hear of John's passing and send along my deepest sympathies to his family.

John was indeed one of the best liked and respected broadcasters in our industry. From the very first time I met him at ABC in 1978 as a member of our affiliate board of directors, he impressed me as a most sincere and highly honorable individual, while at the same time enjoying the reputation as a very shrewd businessman.

He loved to do a good deal and was highly creative...

I am truly sorry for the loss of you father, grandfather ,and great grandfather, John will be truly missed by all who knew him. What a wonderful giving person he was. He and Margie were the most genuine, loving, and happy people I have ever known. Neither were ever seen without a smile or a friendly hello. Together again as they should be.We will meet again someday and I'm sure John will have the hotdaogs cooking and the buns toasting!
My deepest sympathy, Darcy Burnside-Snippe

I met Mr. Shepard at a GVSU dinner, I had the good fortune to sit at the same table with him. He has done many wonderful things for the community, especially GVSU and he will be missed by many. God bless the family. My prayers are with you.

Dave, Joyce, Shawn, Shelley and family,

My sincerest sympathies in the loss of your father and grandfather. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers that you will find comfort during this difficult time.

John Sheapard was my partner, counsel, and friend and most of all he was a broadcaster and business man with a deep passion for the communities he served. The Dinetz family and all of our collegues from D & D Broadcasting who had the honor to work with John and Michael extends our deepest condolances.

We are so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow so soon after your mother's death. Please accept our deepest sympathies.

I am proud to have worked for John Shepard at WLAV and offer my sympathy to the Shepard family on their loss. John opened doors, supported his employees and as others have noted, mentored us all on how to run a radio station for the community it served. Success for John meant not only making money but doing it right. I am forever in his debt for the class he showed, and the respect he gave. The radio community has lost a true innovator.

It is with the deepest of sympathies that I wish to the Shepard family my deepest and most heart felt sympathies. I have known John my entire life through many wonderful times and adventures both in the boats boating across Michigan to Mackinaw Island and back, Coast Guard Festivals, and in Florida at the Buccaneer Inn and condo’s. John and Marjorie were as much a part of my life growing up as my own family and a greater and kinder man and family could not be found. John will be truly missed,...
