John passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019. Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation from 7 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at Reed and Steinbach Funeral Home, 2335 Lower State Road, Doylestown. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in John's name may be made to: Medical Care International for Assists, 5437 Michael Court, Pipersville, Pennsylvania 18947.

While revisiting my 1952-1953 yearbook from my days at Canadian Academy in Kobe, Japan, I found myself reflecting on the many friendships that had been formed there and wondering where life had taken them. At 88 years old, I count it a blessing from the Lord to still be here remembering some of these cherished years. In searching for familiar names, I was saddened to learn that my friend John passed away in 2019. He and I shared a close friendship during our time at CA. I can honestly say...

I just learned about John"s death and experienced a pang a sadness. While I had not been in contact with him for many years the remembrance of things past came forward. John and I were friends at Cornell.and many years later I visited him in Pennsylvania He was sweet, handsome and talented. Nancy Dickenson

I'm so sorry to hear of John's passing. We were in contact for the past decade in relation to my PhD here in Australia that involved his Father Robert's time here in 1942. In October 2016 we met up in Quantico and went to the Marine Corp's museum and archives there for a couple of days. It was a time that I will never forget with laughter and insights into the great men that both John and his Father were. He even offered to pick me up in his little plane but figured out that my bag and myself...

John was a very talented emergency medicine physician who was unassuming and generous with his time. He was caring, ethical, athletic and very special to me. The world has lost one of its good guys. My sincere condolences to Bill and Amy of whom he was so proud.

The nicest man you will ever have met. Him and I were the closest and we did everything together. Our memories will live on. 1938-2019

So sorry to hear of the passing of John. He was such a nice man, always a fun time when he stopped over at PTW. My condolences to the Sherrod family.
