What a beautiful tribute to an amazing man. John's smile was infectious and his life story was fascinating. When the company was turning 100, I had the honor to meet with him and hear all about his family's history. He was an incredible story teller and a wealth of knowledge. He will be greatly missed. Sending my deepest sympathies to the Shipley family.

What a beautiful, beautiful legacy and an eloquent shared story. I can attest to the words written and how wonderful it is to read & know they match-the words match, the life of a very kind and humble man. Tanchumin. May his memory be a blessing always

My heart is with you and your family, Ann. I hope you´ll celebrate this rich and full life even as you grieve its passing. ~Much love~

I was especially "fond" of John as he would say about me and my family after joining Dennis in 2007. I had the wonderful privilege of knowing and working with John over many years. He was a beautiful soul and a great mentor. I count it an honor to have known him and worked with Joan too.

I was saddened to hear about the passing of a great man. I had known Mr. Shipley, ( John) for several years. John and i go back to 1980, when he hired me as a commercial salesman for Spokane. We have traveled the open road together, seeing schools and transit companies. Such a brilliant man, with a great sense of humor. He taught me a lot, and i will think of him often.

John and I were neighbors on Lynnridge Avenue for many decades. He was a consummate gentleman, the kind of neighbor you want to have but seldom get. Both Joan and he were a pleasure to talk with and a wealth of knowledge. Most of the past members of our neighborhood are gone now yet I can state that none will be missed any more than John Shipley. It makes you feel better about yourself if you were lucky enough to have interacted with him. Goodbye my friend.

Dear Ann, David, Thomas and your families, Your father was such a special gentleman. John radiated such a sparkle in his eyes and a warmth that made everyone feel so loved and special. He will be greatly remembered, cherished, and so loved by us all.

David, this is a beautiful tribute. Your dad (and mom, for that matter) sounds like someone quite special. Sending lots of love in this difficult time. -Elisa
