John Francis Simpson

Jack and I have been friends for over 60 years. We were football team mates at Highland Park High School in 1941 and 1942 along with Hall of Famers Bobby Layne and Doak Walker. Together, we journeyed to many meetings of the Highland Park Silver Haired Supper Club. I have known Jack Simpson for many years through the ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) club headquartered at Jake’s Hamburgers on Skillman Street in Dallas -- meeting every other Thursday for a few beers, burgers and much joking and talking. I have loved talking with him on many subjects over the years and have particularly enjoyed his keen and wry sense of humor. We will toast him at our next meeting.
