SLOUGH, John Scott, age 60, left us unexpectedly Wednesday, October 19, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father, William. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Barbara "Kay"; mother, Mildred Ellis; children, Christopher and Erin; brother, Carl Ellis; sisters, Pam and Cynthia; stepchildren, Johnny, Charlie, Cathy, Lisa, Angie and Karen; several grandchildren and many close friends. John had many interests and hobbies; his favorite was spending time with family and friends. He had a fun-loving, outgoing spirit and joy for life that we will miss so much. His life here with us may have been short, but those who were touched by him know that the quality of life far exceeds the quantity of life. We will miss you so much. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 29, at 2 p.m. at Bliley's-Chippenham Chapel, 6900 Hull Street Road.

Not sure what to say?

JOHN WAS LIKE A FATHER TO ME AND A
WONDERFUL GRANDFATHER TO MY SON. I WILL
MISS HEARING HIS STORIES ABOUT GROWING UP AND HIS FUN PERSONALITY. AUSTIN MISSES HIS PLAYMATE AND HIS PAPA AND OUR HEARTS ARE BROKEN BUT HIS MEMORIES WILL REMAIN WITH US FOREVER.

John is what I would call one of the true gentlemen in the sword collecting world. He was always ready to answer questions about gendaito and showato. I am guessing he is now interviewing swordsmiths in heaven and trying to find a way to publish a book back here on earth. Rest well John, you will be missed.

22 Years is a long time ole friend . R.I.P. You will be missed.

I am John's friend Carlos Mata. I worked with him at the Gun and Knivies Show, helping sell his wares. We would laugh and joke in his van on the way to the show and back. He was a talented and smart man. He will be missed. John, May you always rest in peace. Good by Pal.
