John had the most infectious laugh EVER--Har Har Har--after a great joke. One of a kind. Rest in peace John and Bettye

I lost track of John when he moved from PA. To all that knew him, there are latterly hundreds to maybe many more whom he helped on a weekly basis through his talks and sharing which he did in our meetings for over 25 years. Now that he is gone, I can toot his horn, because in life he was a very humble man who did things without wanting to be known or to receive anything in return. He just wanted to help and give back to his fellowship of strangers who became his friends.
Sincerely, Jim...

Uncle John,
I will always remember your generosity, laugh, camel sports coats (corduroy & wool) with plaid pants and of course your man purse!
You were one of the best and will be "g*d d@mn" missed! (So apparently I remember your favorite curse words too).
Rest in peace big guy.
Love,
Ann

Love ya, Pop. You were "one of the great ones." I can't thank you enough for all that you did for me and Mom, and for showing me the way to lead an honorable and good life. I'll miss you every day. Love - Drew

I will always be thankful to john for showing me how to laugh out loud and not have to be drunk or high. He made me any countless others laugh on Thursday night. He was a great man.He did save my life just by extending his hand.He will always be in my thoughts. My heart felt thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Many are saddened to hear of his passing.I can hear his voice echoing in my head as I write these words.Ray Cowan
