Dr. Smith was our family´s Dr. when we moved here from California. He was a no nonsense doctor with a heart of gold. He showed me a trick for removing tape from the body he had learned from his doctoring in the army. I was prepared to experience a no pain approach but instead he just ripped it off with a quick jerk and it was over. He saved my badly infected leg from amputation by just scrubbing the hell out of it with disinfectant and a brush. What a great Doctor and a great man. He...

Doc Smith gave a lifetime of service to the community as a quality healthcare provider and by setting a solid example for the next generation through agriculture. I enjoyed working with him, and I will always remember his yellow socks. Rest in Peace.

Dr. Smith was my family doctor when he first started his practice in LaPorte until he went to be a doctor in the ER at LaPorte Hospital. He was a very kind and excellent doctor. I will always remember him. Dr. Smith was an asset to our community.
