John Henry Spangler 87, of Carthage, Missouri passed away on Friday, October 15, 2020 at his home surrounded by those he loved. He was born May 20, 1933 in Newton County, Missouri to Homer and Marian (Dayton) Spangler. John was retired from Murrell Construction in 1997 and again later retired from G&G Construction. John was a member of the Carthage Masonic Lodge #197, Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Club, and the Carthage Shrine Train Crew. He enjoyed woodworking and sightseeing, driving every country road he came to.   


      John was united in marriage to Ann Conway on April 23, 1961. She survives. Other survivors include, one son, Terry (June) Spangler of Seymour, MO., two daughters, Winnie (Kenneth) Louden of Fidelity, MO. and Deb (Dale) Bailey of Carthage, MO., two brothers, Carl (Charlene) Spangler of Carrollton, MO. and Harold Spangler of Oklahoma City, OK., five grandsons, one granddaughter, six great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Jo Ann Dalton and Tracy McIntyre., one son, John Spangler Jr., brother, Wayne Spangler and sister Ann Williams.         


      Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Avilla Cemetery. John will lie in state for people to pay their respects and sign the book from 2:00 till 4:00 p.m. Sunday October 18, 2020 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO. Covid-19 regulations will be observed at all times.

Aunt Ann and Family, I just found out today (Tuesday) about Uncle John. Please know that he was truely loved and will be missed by many. My heart and prayers are with you all.

Dearest Ann and family, Terri informed me of John's passing Monday evening. I know he will be missed by many. Brenda asked me to send her condolences to you also. Love you Annie.

We were very sorry to hear about John's passing. He will be sorely missed. We have so many wonderful memories of Shrine trips, meetings and fund raisers. We are praying for blessings for all of you. God Bless!
