John was just the nicest person. So quiet and kind. John, Ralph, my husband and I went to Ireland together. John and I sat together in the back seat of the car and we had many laughs.
He was also a most fortunate man because Ralph took such good care of him. He will be sorely missed.

John was indeed a true southern gentleman. In fact, that probably is a real understatement. He was much more than that. John was a kind, considerate and type of man that would do anything for you. My wife and I met John and Ralph on a tour of China in 2000. We have been friends ever since and took other trips together. He was a great travel companion, always ready to see and enjoy all the sights, including many that were not on the tour agenda. I will miss him.

John was a true Southern Gentleman in every regard. It was a pleasure to be in his company and he took great pleasure being around others. I loved it when he would quietly raise his brows and purse his lips when something untoward occurred. He will be missed and remembered with great fondness. He was a wonderful friend to my Uncle Ralph Block.
