Not sure what to say?

Hi my Darling John, It's been 6 years now and not a moment goes by that I dont think of you and all the 60+ years we shared together, then too, I talk to you all day and your spirit is all around. It's not the same for sure, friends when they come say, they "can feel your warmth." Your bearutiful creative art is showing at the Hoffman Gallery in Manzanita your birthday month of February. Also their are several gifts of love/art you created to me, both 2D and 3D of which have never been been...

I met John one time when we were both enrolled at North Central Michigan junior college in Petoskey, Michigan. I was 17 or 18 at the time. As part of an arts display at the college John exhibited a large oil painting I very much admired of two Trumpeter Swans in flight against a vivid blue background. I was fortunate enough to acquire that work from him at that time. That painting has been prominently displayed in every residence I've had from that time to the present. It gives me pleasure...

I first met John Stahl in in 1967 at the Portland Art Museum school. John and I were students their and worked on the work-study program for the school doing cleanup in the studio spaces after class. I started my classes in 1966 and John started in 1967. John and I worked together
cleaning up under a really nice older fellow Mr. Roger Vetch.
Working with John was fine, the duties and work roles for each night changed but we always shared the load evenly. One day Roger had a medical...

Jan, First met the two
STAHL's when they came to the Museum Art School John and Jan were always a team.

John was an artist and was able to focus on the
current and past philosophies of ART. We often had wonderful and informed discussions about the
elements of art and artists. This was so special for me because few men would take women seriously
and engage in discussions with them personally.
A unique artist and human.

Hello Jan
I see that the guestbook has added another year. I was so glad to get your reminder to add my memories. i hope more people will add their thoughts. John and you have been such a huge part of our life.
Wonderful memories never go away. Lots of love to you.

I first met John when I took a watercolor class from him at the Museum Art School. I had admired his work but hadn't known the man. It was his passion for the sea, the environment and politics and the way it was integrated into his life and his art that fostered our friendship.

No memories of John are complete without Jan. Jan and John...We had such fine times together. The only times Harry and I went crabbing or clamming we went with Jan and John. Their July 4th barbecue...

Dear Family and Friends,
If you have signed John's (Jack's) guest book and would like to add a post, or if you have done so and would like to add something, please note the guest book will close on February 16, 2019.
Look forward to hearing from you.
Janet

Just finding out about John's death, and remembering seeing Janet and John in Portland a year or two ago. So sorry for the loss of a legacy artist in Oregon. I will always remember your Fulton Community Garden, way back when.
