John T. Starr, Jr. (Jack), 56 Years, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville on Thursday, December 9, 2010.
Viewing hours will be Sunday from 3-8pm and Monday from 9am at Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison, NJ 07029. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church on Monday at 10am. Born in Kearny, NJ, Jack was a lifelong resident of Harrison. He was a former member of the Harrison Police Department, Past President of the Policemen’s Benevolent Association Local 22, and a former member of the Harrison Pleasure Club. He was a Past Treasurer of the Harrison East Newark Booster Club and a member of the Harrison East Newark Elks.
John was the beloved Son of the late Adele (Jurczak) and John Starr Sr.
He was the devoted husband of Virginia “Ginni” Starr, loving father of Skip and his wife Amy and Ryan Starr, Loving Grandfather to Jayden John, dear Son in Law of Patricia and late John “Jack” Leonardis, Nephew of Mary (Ronnie) and late Thomas Starr, Walter and Joyce Jurczak. Brother in law to John and Rose Leonardis, Pat and Susan (Leonardis) Magnacavello, Kevin and Nora (Leonardis) McCloskey, Dan and Marie (Leonardis) Madden, Jacqueline Leonardis. Uncle to Geraldine Leonardis, Tom and Joanne (Leonardis) Suppa, Robert, Karen, and Kevin McCloskey, Daniel , John, and Thomas Madden, Aurora and Tanner Wade and many cousins and friends. John was predeceased by his Aunts and Uncles Joseph and Genevieve Eleneski and Irene and Joseph Casey, and his beloved dog Petie.
In Lieu of flowers please make donations to the charity of your choice or to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home in memory of Jack.
