John W. Steadman

Words cannot express how truly sorry we are to just learn about about John's death. He was an inspiration to us all with his courage battling his illness. It was a pleasure to have coached and worked with him at Field High School. He was always smiling and joking and a joy to be around. Our heart goes out to Karen and the family. He will be missed. I recently heard the sad news and wish to express my deepest sympathy to the Steadman family. I'm certainly grateful to have had the opportunity to share many years around such a great role model like Coach Steadman. He made an everlasting positive impact in my life. I am so sorry to hear about John's death. My mom just informed me-- we both agreed that we really thought he would beat this cancer, and I know we feel a closeness because of my dad's and John's diagnosis at about the same time. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. Karen Shaylor

John Steadman was an excellent teacher and inspired our social studies class to think and examine issues critically. I heard of his illness and pray for his family. He was a special part of our senior assembly also. I presented him with a light up yo-yo since that was his special nickname for our class!

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. John was an influential teacher and coach to me while at Field High School. He was an admired teacher.

We are sending sincere sympathy to John's family of loved ones who will sorely miss his earthly presence.

John was my good friend for many years and both John and Karen were a great support to my wife and me during her similar illness a couple years ago. We will never forget the encouragement and support which was provided. John was a wonderful man.
