Camille, John, Julie and Greg and all of the Steen Family. Jill and I attended John's meaningful service and I recognized the John I knew in each of the three eulogies. My time with John started back in May of 1980 and my first time participating at a playground with my oldest son, 9 year old Freddie. What I learned coaching that year and for the next several years from John, and those he gathered around him, led me to stay at Miley for the next 32 years. I later often talked about him and that he taught me what Miley sports were truly about, developing young boys, and not just winning games. We also saw you and him at Matas, and got to work together for our children at that wonderful time in our lives. You and John did such a great job with those kids that it brought them to where they are today. God bless all of you and know that all of you will be in our prayers.

My heart is broken. We have all lost such a wonderful man here on Earth and heaven has an angel to guide and protect each one of you . He will be deeply missed but not forgotten . Camille, you were truly blessed to have this man as your husband , best friend and father to your children Johnny and Julie , how blessed you both were to have such a great and loving father. We loved so much when your Dad was hanging out on "the lane". He was always so calm in the storm of the kids running crazy. I will always remember the walks to or from school with him chasing the boys on scooters; he was such a pleasure to talk with. He will be greatly missed.

Johnny and I grew up around the corner from each other. We played many a football game on Phosphor or Homestead.

I played ball with Johnny at Metairie Playground and Jesuit. Over the last few years, I would run into Johnny and Camille in the French Quarter. I always enjoyed seeing them and chatting for a little while. He has a wonderful family and many friends. I was lucky enough to know him. May God provide comfort. I am convinced that he is now in Heaven.
