John L. "Jack" Stephenson

i do hope the family read my message about my friendship with Jack when he worked at Ethyl. my husband, who died in january, 2021, was 3 weeks older than Jack and was a Chem. engineer for Ethyl for 34 years. He graduated the same year as Jack, but he was a Rice graduate. One of our closest friends graduated from wisconsin the same year, in chem engineering. he also worked at Ethyl. Jack and I were friends in Baton Rouge during the time he worked for Ethyl Corp. we met in 1951 when I was a freshman at LSU and kept in touch until he became "engaged' to his wife. he was a fine young man and we dated until he left for Oregon. i am happy to know he had a good life and contributed to make the world a better place. I still live in Baton rouge, and I married an engineer who worked at Ethyl, but I did not meet him until 1957 after jack had left BR, and he did not know Jack....

The legacy of the Stephensons lives on, through the JJ Stephenson Scholarship Fund at Oregon State University. Peace!
