Not sure what to say?

My deepest sympathy to you, Ellen, and your daughters for your loss. I will always remember your telling about your husband saying that all of your daughters looked like you. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but he must have been a treasure. Sorry for your loss.

Peter and I would like to express our deeoest symphathy to Ellen and their daughters. John was a "special friend". We admired his evergetic mind, his high character and his courage to innovate his own buisness in the nuclear field. John also helped set up a very memorable trip to St Petersburg,Russia. Peter believes John's views on future atomic energy will be proven right. We both will miss you John. Our prayers are with you and your family.

I had the utmost pleasure to work with John on numerous ANS standards and DOE projects over the past 10 years. He was a brilliant man of high integrity. I also got to know him more personally during a business trip to Las Vegas in December 2012 which deepened our professional relationship. May I express my deepest sympathy to John's family in your loss. His passing is also a great loss to me and I will miss working and talking with him.

While expressing my deepest sympathy for the Stevenson family, I would like to share my long professional association with John briefly by saying that I do not know anyone in the nuclear industry working on the development of ASCE, ANS, ASME, and IAEA standards for earthquake and extreme wind/precipitation hazard mitigation who contributed more than John did. We all will miss his pragmatic touch in guiding the development of many nuclear industry standards. But above all, John was a true...

For technical knowledge of civil seismic design, there were few equals. Also a gentleman and scholar, and a very considerate colleague! One who will be missed...

My deepest sympathies to John's family. I worked with John on the development of numerous nuclear related standards for over 30 years. John's contribution to these standards was monumental and has provides significant benefit to the nuclear industry. He was a great person to work with.

My deepest sympathy to the Stevenson family. I have known John for over 23 years as a consultant to the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board (DNFSB). When I arrived at the DNFSB in 1991 and saw the impact he (and two other consultants) was having on the DNFSB, I deemed them: “The Three Wise Men”. He did a lot of valuable work for us and I also knew him recently as a member of an American Nuclear Society (ANS) standards committee. If I could think of one way to describe John it would...

John was a great addition to our technical committee. I enjoyed the time we had and will miss him.

Our deepest and sincerest sympathy! You're in our thoughts and prayers! Steve and Jo Anne Morriello
