"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." - Mark TwainWith great sadness, John Warren Stoops' family...

Not sure what to say?

So sorry for your loss. Hope to see you at the Ford Alumni Center

I am sad to discover of John's passing. John and I were classmates at Thurston (88') and he was always behind his camera waiting to capture those special high school moments. Please accept my sincere condolences...

Always enjoyed John's enthusiasm and commitment, from his days with The Springfield News forward. My condolences.

I was very sorry to hear this news. I met John when he volunteered his time to photograph our fundraising walk for our local Special Olympics program. It was just a lovely thing for him to do - to donate his wonderful talent like that. My sympathy to John's friends and family; he will be greatly missed, I know.

I knew John when he was just a "sprout". Even then, his joyful, rambunctious, adventurous nature was apparent. A rare gift. I'm so sorry.

John had a great smile and friendliness. I always enjoyed it when he dropped by the Springfield News. RIP, and my deepest condolences to his family and all who loved him.

I knew John from our college days in the early 1990's. In fact, he was with me when a state motor pool vehicle gave out on i-5 near Chehalis late at night on our way back from a photojournalism conference. I then ran into him on and off through the years. I think the last time was at the Fiesta Bowl against Auburn. We were both shooting the game. He was always upbeat and working hard. He never gave up on his dreams. My condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear about John. Way too young to be taken like that. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.
