Not sure what to say?

Sorry to here of Johns passing, A great man and friend.

Corresponded for years with John, a fellow militaria collector. Sad to hear of his passing. Fair winds and a following sea...

God's speed old friend.
May your Vickers never have a No.2 stoppage.
Going to miss our correspondence.

I knew John from many collectors sites, and we shared common interests. He sent me a part once, and a note inside. Still have both. Fine fellow. Will miss him and his stories.

Remembering happy times when John came to stay with us in England. He was a very dear friend. I will miss our contacts. Maureen and Bill Behan.

I got to know John through 20 years together with Bydand Forever, the 1st Battalion, Gordon Highlanders, 1882. Underneath his exterior crust there beat a heart of gold. He will be sorely missed by the whole regiment. "What's like us?"

My dad was in the 5th Cavalry Memorial Regiment with John, so I knew John when I was a kid. Many times dad and i would go over to his house to work on gear, etc and prep for a parade or show. It was a ot of fun. RIP John.

John always called me "BOSSMAN", but I never had to use that on him.He was slow, but thorough/ you just had to be patient with him. John was a man of virtue and character.

I got to know another side of John when TDY with him in Panama. He was kind enough to share some of his tea with me. It was that side of John I came to appreciate. He did live on his own terms which takes great strength. I am so grateful for that TDY to Panama just to experience that precious side of John.
