Not sure what to say?

I just learned of John's passing in a conversation with Matt. I am so sorry to his family and the Sullivan's. I grew up with the Sullivan's on Belmont Pl. John was such a nice guy. John's rare appearances at the Cloghessy pool every Summer was a huge treat. A real cut up. He made a show of a cannonball off the diving board. Sometimes taking up to 5 minutes to create the biggest splash the kids of Belmont had seen. I am richer in life for the memories I have of John. And the entire amazing...

Hello Nancy, this is Dan Tilka. I was so sorry to hear about my friend John. He was a wonderful and close friend for many years. I have followed his career fairly closely for many years. How he must have been respected all. If you would ever like to say Hi I still live in Port Charlotte Fl.

Sully and I were USAFA "partners in crime ". We drank Coors, smoked Old Golds, skied (using the term totally loosely),drank Coors, visited each others homes and laughed. His intelligence humor and integrity were unmatched. RIP my good buddy. My belated sincere condolences to his family.

John will be missed, yet he lives on in inspiring memories. He became Parliamentarian in l987 when I began as a member of Congress. He was always there to help: knowledgable, kind, and dedicated to his country and his"sacred" role. Condolences, prayers, and peace to his family. Connie Morella

Hi Nancy I was so sorry to hear of John's death. Brought back so many memories. Love to email you can you send me your address? This is Dan Tilka [email protected]

I just read of John´s passing. I attended grade school at St. Anne´s with John. It has been rewarding to see his accomplishments in life. More endearing is to hear that he was such a good person. My deepest sympathies to his family.

John and I joined the Parliamentarian's Office in January 1987, and I had the honor and pleasure to work with him until my retirement in 2009. He was everything a good person should be -- fun, loving, supportive and considerate. Moreover, he epitomized everything a good Parliamentarian needs to be -- ethical, balanced in his opinions, and full of integrity. John was all that and more. He will be greatly missed by everyone fortunate enough to have worked beside him.

My condolences to all of Johns´s family. I worked with him at the House of Representatives and found him to be one of the nicest people I have ever known. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.

I spent a decade working with John on the US House Floor and there wasn´t a day that his brilliance and kindness that he didn´t make better. RIP dear friend. I so enjoyed hearing your joy and delight at spending time with your grandchildren. I´m sorry I never got to tell you how much my son Nate loves his AF ROTC experience. Much love to his cherished family.
