Not sure what to say?

I saw this and got very sad and nostalgic. I worked as a messenger at PM&S back about 50 years ago. It was both Sutros senior and junior, who were the kindest. Senior would give me Niner & Giants' tickets (He, like me, loved Willie Mays and John Jr. was just a nice guy and most of us messengers went out of our way to help them. I recall babysitting a couple of lawyers who were looking at files in John Jr. office. I was told not to leave under any circumstances. I had no problem with that,...

Just found out about Judge Sutro's passing. I worked for a major insurance carrier doing personal injury claims. He was the judge assigned to my case. He was fierce and stern during our hearing. Hours later, I saw him with his daughter and grandson - he was filled with joy and pride. God bless you Judge Sutro. May you rest in peace. And prayers to his family.

My wife, Renee, and I respected and admired Judge Sutro. He was a fair, hardworking, and dedicated judge. Renee remembers fondly appearing before him. I cherish the years when he and I were colleagues on the bench. He also was a very funny. Roy Chernus.

Judge Sutro was a very caring person and made sure everyone was treated fairly in his courtroom. He will truly be missed

What a sweet and loving friend and colleague. I will miss him very much. -Kelly Simmons

Jack and I served together on the Marin Superior Court for 13 years. Jack took his judicial responsibilities as serious as any judge I ever appeared before. He was committed to imparting justice with an even hand. He would spend long hours writing his decisions in difficult cases. Away from the courthouse Jack and I took many enjoyable hikes throughout Marin County with his faithful dog Murphy. I am deeply saddened by his unexpected passing.
