Not sure what to say?

Nat Lauzon, this is a perfect summary of how many of us felt and still do. He was so knowledgeable and caring! He loved his four-legged patients and was always there for them! Never missed a call or a text. My babies and I miss him beyond words even though it has been 5 years! I used to tell him, that he COULD NOT retire lol. What would I do?!? He always jokingly replied, he couldn´t... His enthusiasm for his profession was boundless. He just was the BEST! I miss his upbeat & positive energy,...

I hope someone sees this, because - I'd like to echo what so many have said - that Dr. Symes was amazing. I never met him - I live in Montreal, Canada - but e-mailed him many times after stumbling across his work with dogs and idiopathic epilepsy. My girl was having seizures and after implementing the GARD diet, her issues were greatly reduced and her quality of life was so much better until she passed at age 12 in 2014 (not of epilepsy). I was so grateful to this gentle soul, who always...

I am so very sorry to just now learn of John's passing. I was looking him up regarding our 50th high school reunion when I found this obituary. He was my childhood next door neighbor and friend through school years. I am so very sorry for his family's huge loss.

I just wanted Dr. Symes family to know what a special person he was. I miss him every day and I miss his talents as a vet. He was one of the finest vets ever. We used him for over 25 years and it has been very difficult to try to replace him. I am sorry that he never go around to finishing his book. I was looking forward to reading it as he had so much information to share. Thank you to his family for sharing him with all of us. Very sincerely, Sandy Lowell

Oh my!! Such a shock......I met John at Angel Memorial Animal Hospital back in the early 1980's. Worked with him at an Animal Hospital on Cape Cod , MA. Early days. He was a good man.....

I am devastated and shocked to learn the news of Dr Syme's passing. His selfless guidance helped save the life of my little epileptic dog. His generosity of spirit, boundless knowledge and willingness to help will always be remembered. The gratitude I feel but now also the sadness cannot be expressed in words. RIP Dr Symes. I will always remember you with love. Sending my deepest condolences to his family from Greece.

We were shocked and so saddened to hear about Dr Symes on April 27th. Our condolences to his family. I first met Dr symes when my cat Poindexter my beautiful Main Coon was critically ill and the vetenerian I had taken him to told me that he couldn't do anything more for him and that he needed to be euthanized. I had found Dr. Symes name on the phone book and he had just moved to Mobile from California a year ago. Dr Symes treated Poindexter did surgery on him and he lived for 17 more yrs. He...
