Coach, Teacher, Mentor, and Friend to all students whose lives he touched. It was so apparent to us how much he loved his family!!! No one will ever take your place.

I always wished my Dad was like Coach and later in life I wished my sons would grow up to be like him. I visited Coach a few times in the last few years and thats comforting now

Coach was an assistant coach at Columbia High School. In 1959 he assisted as we won the AAA State Championship. Later in life I officiated scores of his games, officiated games with him and played golf together. Most of all he was a dear friend who I respected. The world was a better place when he was in it.

My fondest memory of Coach Szakacsi has nothing to do with his greatness as a coach but oddly with a story I still tell to this day for some reason. In 1969 he was my Driver's Ed teacher at AC Flora. Everyday the first thing we did while out driving was to stop by Dunkin Donuts. And the way we drove, I guess he needed a little reward each day. He was a great teacher!
