He was my father, and also my best friend. He taught me many things, the most important was to be myself. No matter what I did or how I dressed, he loved me through it all.

I looked up to him for many reasons, the most meaningful to me, was that he served his counrty honorably, and was awarded so. I tried myself to mirror that example, but could not. Knowing this, he said no matter what he was proud I made it as far as I did..

My heart goes out to you and the boys. I hadn't seen Johnny since I was a little girl but enjoyed the updates and pictures that you had sent over the years. Please know that you are in our thoughts. Dear Cecilia, Bob and Boys,
I am having a hard time finding the correct words to say my feelings. John will be greatly missed and right now as soon as I try to think forward I am stopped and came back to this minute. I am realizing that I need to stay in this minute and be with you. If you need hugs come to me. If you need me to just sit there, no words at all, we can sit.
