I was a patient of John Talley when I was living in Los Alamos in the late 1970's. He was a wonderful kind man

I was a patient of Dr. Talley. I liked this man so much I saw him as a father figure. He helped me more than I can say.

I had the great fortune to have supervision with John as a UNM psych resident in the 90's. He was one of the most generous, exuberantly alive spirits I've ever met. He forever shaped my idea of what a psychiatrist and a psychotherapist could be. I can't think of him without feeling an instant of joy and gratitude.

What a wonderful friend John was and what a gift he was to the local institute. I will remember him best because of his stories of the early mid-west, which he told with gusto.
He will be missed and will always be a dear friend.

We collaborated in some clinical writing. I thought of John often after leaving Santa Fe, and during the past few years would search for him on the Web every once in a while. Finding his obituary in such a search makes this a sad day; it...
