Not sure what to say?

Truly sorry to hear of his passing. Prayers and sympathies to family and friends.

Sorry for your loss. You taught me in English class and Jake was my Driver Ed teacher. You were both great teachers and made the experience fun. Hope you have been getting on ok. Ron Barbaree. 65

Dear Elaine,
So sorry to hear about Jake. I have such fond memories of the two of you and I know your loss is great. What a couple and how great that you were able to share so much including employment at Steinert! I too had Jake for driver's ed and to this day I love driving, did he have a hand in that? I wish you the best as your life goes on and hope to run into you when I visit NJ as I did the last time I was there. Take care.

Dear Elaine,

So sad to hear of Jake's passing. The world was a better place for having him in it. I can't think of him without smiling. Great memories of the two of you, your apartment in Hightstown and Schenley. Who knew I would end up working (after graduating from William & Mary) in the same tiny stockbroker's office as Moe Weber? What a pair he and Jake were!

My husband, Doug Shearer, has very fond memories of Jake and baseball at Steinert. I, like many others who...

Dear Elaine,
My thoughts are with you and your family at this very difficult time.

Jake not only taught me to drive, but he did it while listening to talk radio (Joe Pyne) and keeping the entire 65 Chevy in stitches the whole time. He was an original in every way. My heartfelt condolences to Elaine and Becky.

Growing up, I wanted Jake's approval more than anything. I would call Jake anytime my name was in the paper for baseball. His standard reply: "Big deal. There are a billion people in China who don't give a damn." Whether he knows it or not, he taught me a valuable lesson about humility and perspective. Only Jake could insult and instruct you simultaneously!

So sorry for your loss. He was my homeroom and drivers ed teacher. I guess he would be glad to know I have never had a car accident. class of 66.
