John F. Terry

I just learned of John's passing from a mutual friend, and I'm greatly saddened. Every Sunday morning as I open my Oregonian, I miss seeing what I always used to turn to first - the Oregon Trails column by John about one or another fascinating and informative bit of local history. John and I shared another passion, for our alma mater Portland State College - er, University. Portland needs John Terry-like people, now more than ever. May his spirit and good humor continue to move us.
