When we made the decision to move to Grand Rapids, MI, they offered to drive out with my wife and two younger children AND let my high school daughter and I stay in their house for 5 weeks so that I could finish the school year at SLOHS. I had met John just a few years ago during my morning walk with my dog. It was a wonderful experience to walk with him. He had a great chuckle, brilliant mind and so compassionate towards the people of our planet. Our friendship meant so much to me and I was devastated when he received his diagnosis.
