You will always be in our prayers & thoughts Marine.....Semper Fi Brother Marine Detachment USS WASP CVS-18

May John Rest In Peace! He rdid a magnificent job training the Exxon Bayway Rescue Squad for Numerous years. When I left Bayway to go to Hess Oil Virgin Islands, I hired John to help me form and train the HOVIC Heavy Rescue Squad. He did a great job and became a great friend. John will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

John Thompson represented the very best, the very finest example of a Trooper and Marine with whom I have ever had the honor to work, share humorous moments, and learn so much about how to operate an Office of Emergency Management successfully. I hold his memory as one of my finest. God Bless you John!! May your hub cap award hang on your wall forever.

Condolences My uncle was also stationed on the WASP during the time of the rocket capsule recovery. The men from that ship were very proud to take part in that space program. His name was Lt. Donald Brown.
