Phenix City, AL- John "Johnny" Dorsey Thrash, 51, of Phenix City, AL, passed away early Friday morning in the comfort of his home while surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm EST on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Vance Memorial Chapel in Phenix City with Reverend Jimmy Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour before the service on Sunday at the funeral home. His family will hold a private interment.
Johnny was born on July 8, 1965, in Columbus, GA, the son of the late Charles Edward Thrash and Martha Ann Strickland Oshel. He was the co-owner of Ronnie Smith Motors and enjoyed trips to Winn Creek Casino, sharing special times with family and grandchildren, and traveling. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Steve "Stevie" Thrash.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kathy "Lynn" Smith Thrash; children, Steven Thrash, Ashley Marth, Javas Owens, Anna Stephens, Taylor Thrash and Tyler Thrash; sister, Sandy Vance; brothers, Mike Thrash, wife Maria, Tommy Vance, wife Kathy and Chris Thrash, wife Sandy; (7) grandchildren, Kaiden Marth, Cali Marth, Brayden Miller, Stella Thrash, Layla Thrash, Waylon Martin, and John Winston Martin; three very special nieces, Rylee, Cher, and April, a host of other nieces and nephews; extended family members and many caring friends.
