John Howard Gentry Tobin (Johnny T), born July 24, 1968 in Jersey City, New Jersey passed away unexpectedly January 2, 2019 at the age of 50. Johnny was raised in Terra Linda, California and Son of Kathleen Tobin and Dennis (Bette) Tobin. Brother of Lisa Prickett. Uncle of Macauley Prickett. Nephew of Reenie, (Bill) Starfelt, Patricia Twohill, T.C. Twohill, Brian Tobin, Timothy Tobin, the late Larry Twohill (Lori) and the late Chad Mannetter. A graduate and three- sport star of Terra Linda High School, class of 1986. A larger than life figure who made everyone he met a friend. Strangers were just people he hadn't yet met. He never wanted the party to end or a person to leave without a hug. He made people feel welcome where ever he went. Although he couldn't remember the words to Happy Birthday, he could recite any country song from the last 50 years verbatim. His great passion aside from his family and friends were sports, whether playing golf in Florida or cheering on his beloved Cowboys, Dodgers, Gators and Lakers (much to the chagrin of his friends). He was the only one of his crew to reach the par 5 on the 11th hole at TPC Sawgrass in two shots and was always happy to tell you about it (mostly leaving out the part that he 3-putted from 5 feet) He was a proud uncle to his cherished niece Macauley Prickett, when she got a scholarship to play softball at North Carolina State there was no one prouder than her Uncle Johnny. His best friend in life his mother Kathy.
He will be deeply missed by hundreds, if not thousands of friends, he made on his journey in life. Including: The A-Teamers, The Mutants, Joeay, R-tay, Moo Moo, Davu, Matty, Mowers, Slappy, Chicken , Striker, Steena, Those who knew him were graced with his infectious smile and love of life.In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to The American Heart Association. As written by Maya Angelou "I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel". Rest in Peace friend.

So sorry to hear the news of Johnny's passing. We grew up around the corner from his family on Mirada Avenue in San Rafael. Our thoughts and prayers are with John and his family during this difficult time.

God Speed JT! You were one of the biggest reasons why me and my buddy's growing up wanted to be Trojan football players. Rest in peace.
