Not sure what to say?

Mr Towner was my first band teacher at Flint School. Thanks to him I enjoyed band all through my school years.

I fondly remember Mr. Towner. As a 4th grader at Flint he helped me find an instrument to play when my fingers would go into the holes on a clarinet. He gave me a flute and my years being in band began! He was indeed a kind man with a great gift. My life has been forever enriched thanks to him. May God comfort you.

My memories of Mr Towner go way back. My older sister had the honor of having him as her band teacher at Ray Marsh around the end of the 1970´s and start of the 1980´s. As a little kid, I remember going to her concerts, and honors band practice. When I came of age at Blue Jacket, I had the chance of gaining an interest in playing music because of Mr Towner. He remembered my big sis still, and eagerly got another one of us playing. He had a profound effect on me personally as I continued...

I had Mr Towner as a teacher when I was in school. I am 65yrs old now. I remember him fondly (and his daughter Tandy as well). He was a very kind and nice man to everyone!! He cared very much about teaching and the kids. I am happy he lived such a long and full life. I send condolences to his family. He was a man to be proud of.

I was one of those thousands of children, starting with band in 4th grade at Nieman. John´s influence was ongoing in my life and I will never forget him. To Randy (my childhood golf teacher) and the rest of the family, please accept my deepest condolences.
