John, I will always remember your intelligent good humor. Siempre recordaré tu inteligente buen humor. Tú decías que aprendías cosas con nuestras charlas, pero yo aprendía más, seguro. Incluso cuando coincidimos con mis hijos, tenías la paciencia simpática de los profesores excelentes, porque eras un compañero y una persona excelente. Ahora sabes todas las respuestas. Sólo espéramos a los demás para compartir y que sigamos disfrutando de la Amistad, que de eso se trata todo. Descansa en paz.

I just learned of John's passing. I knew him as a colleague in the Department of World Languages and Literatures, where he taught Spanish. He was a wonderful and warm human being, and he will be missed by many members of our department. En paz descanse.

John, I really miss the many times we got together for a cup of coffee at the University Cafe in Palo Alto, and discussing the computer peripherals industry, and especially our current course work and progress in our studies at the SJSU Graduate School. I also remember all the thousands of high-tech articles you wrote and published on disk drives in Mini-Micro Systems Magazine, especially in the many news articles where you quoted me as a disk drive industry analyst and consultant.
