John Patrick Tully

John led the youth program for Gesu Church in Milwaukee in the late 1980's and into the 1990. He was the epitome of kindness and giving of his own time. We can only hope to be so generous before our time comes. You will be missed John.

John has been a close and longstanding friend. We were able to maintain this friendship in spite of us hardly ever living in the same area. He was the godfather to our second son, Luke. My condolences go out to the family. Peggy Leonhardt.

My wife, Peg, and I met John shortly after we were married in December 1971. He was a member of the choir at the church we attended and we joined as well. This led to a lifetime of friendship, often revolving around our faith. After we moved to Madison, he would visit and worship with us at the University Catholic Center. We attended his wedding in Freeport, Illinois. In 1979 we moved to Milwaukee and shortly after he moved from Freeport to Milwaukee and again we connected and worshipped...

I knew John from his time in Freeport, and he was part of my Vocational inspiration to Ministry. He was a true “poverello” and will be missed by many. You are all in my prayers.
