Not sure what to say?

Today I was advising a younger friend who felt slighted by others in his workplace about how to keep his head up when being criticized. I remembered what John told me back in 1986 after I'd been looked down on by an arrogant car dealer's son, and I relayed this today though I've used this hundreds of times in my past. Dear Patty and family,
John's passing is truly sad for me, for I have referred to him as my "Second Father" for many years. He's forgotten more about life than I shall ever know, and I am grateful for his advice, his faith, and his humor that he has shared with me for 23 years... I'm so very sorry that I was not able to travel to OKC for a visit. You all are in my thoughts.

Dear Patty and Family - You and Jay were married for 49 years and I so remember attending your wedding with the reception held at the Tenderloin. It was so beautiful! I just remember Jay as being so nice and handsome. We are very sorry for your loss and we send you our love and prayers.

To Trish and Family,
While I didn't know your dad personally the beautiful obituary showed how wonderful and loving he was to the family. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time.
