I would like to give my condolences to all of the family of John Tureman. I was on a trip to West Virginia recently and I am just now looking back at the Virginian Pilot Obituaries to see if anyone I know has passed away. I am saddened to see John is here. I wish that I had the opportunity to see him over the years. We have not seen each other since young men. He and I were in the top 40 rock band The Barracudas in 1968 and 1969. Although I have never "met" John, I have spoken with him hundreds of times over the last 5-6 years. His joi de vivre was contagious. He always asked how I was doing and my response would be "Ducky." Well for the last year, he would make all kinds of remarks about how the ducks are doing. After hanging up with him, I always had a smile on my face.
