Ubel, John B., "Jack" age 80, of Inver Grove Heights, on October 3, 2007 John ("Johnny", "Jack") Bertrand Ubel passed peacefully from death to life, into the loving, patient arms of Jesus. He had served as a Minneapolis Police Officer until retiring in 1977. He excelled as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, with tremendous joy in his children, all of whom share a dedication to serving their personal Savior, Jesus Christ. Married for 59 years to his only love, Veronica ("Vee") who was and is a gift from God, his best friend, partner, and the one who tried to keep the stripes and plaids separate, he leaves a legacy of honor, faithfulness, courage, resolve and never-ending love to four generations. He now awaits with a healthy heart, the reuniting of his family in heaven: his wife, Vee; his children, Rick (Gloria), Viki (Wayne) Erickson, Tracee (Bob) Hannon, Sharon (Doug) Flaten; grandchildren, Jamie (Kelly) Taylor, Justin (Jessica), Travis, Max Erickson, Rebecca Hannon, Tim Hannon, Matthew Flaten; great-granddaughter, Brooklyn; sister, Maurine "Marla" Wahl; niece, and other friends. Funeral Service Tuesday, 10:30 AM, October 9, 2007 at Augustana Lutheran Church, 1400 South Robert Street, West St. Paul 651-457-3373 with visitation starting at 9:30 AM. Interment Ft. Jack and Vee

Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Jack & Vee live next door and touched our family deeply. The boys, Dan, Kwow and Mike and myself and Mary will miss Jack greatly.

A true tribute to Jack is he still reached out to the young men in my family and they respected him greatly and will miss him.

Tracee and Sharon, so sorry to hear about your Dad. Will remember you all in my prayers.

"Uncle" John, I will miss you so. You are part of my earliest memories "teenie tiny toes" as you called me. You are a part of my life, you are family. We were so sad to hear that sweet Jack passed away. He was a kind and funny guy~ We will miss him around the neighborhood~ He always had some funny comment for us as he walked by on his way to the mailbox! He was always so kind to our daughter Murphy Rose. He called her "Rosie" and she sure liked that! Jack will be remembered and missed.
God Bless you and your family!
