John Hidden Van Buren

Martha and I became friends with John through our mutual love and admiration for Oregon Ballet Theatre and Portland Youth Philharmonic. John was so intellectually awake and well-informed. Our dinners together were always filled with stimulating conversation that led us to explore new avenues of history and art. We were also moved and motivated by his generosity as a supporter of the arts. He will be greatly missed.

Sorry for your loss. John had a full life.

Sorry to hear about John's passing. We were good friends and classmates at Lincoln High School. We shared many interesting conversations and long walks. His influence will continue on in the students he taught, the music he wrote, and the people he loved.
