John Wesley Van Norman Sr.

Uncle John will be missed by all who knew him. He could tell stories and jokes and make people laugh with no problem. When my parents used to take me to visit John and Vernie, when I was young, I was never bored with John around to give me a hard time in a playful way. I was fascinated with his war planes hanging around his house and his knowledge of so many things. I'm 50 now but will always cherish the memories I have of Big John.

John will be greatly missed by many people.

I grew up next door to "Big John" he was a true friend who always had a laugh that was bigger than himself. When I moved away and was married, John looked forward to visits when I would bring my own children to visit my mom & dad John would come by to see them as well and then would watch our son and eventually our daughter and youngest son take hold of his finger and walk beside him to his house only to return with a bag of candy that was so full it was about to burst.
