Not sure what to say?

Dr. Vance was a great professor with a kind and warm personality. I first met Dr. Vance by reading his book and technical papers. Then, I was privileged of becoming one of his students at Texas A&M in 2000, where I learned many things from him. He was disciplined, respectful and passionate for engineering. Last time I was in contact with him was during the Christmass holidays of 2011, while writting my PhD. thesis. He gently dedicated time to read my questions and provide nurturing answers. I...

Dear Vance family, I am a former student of Dr. Vance (he was my teacher in 1997). I only learned these sad news until now, but I want to let you know that I have fond memories of Dr. Vance. My prayers go to him and you.

Dear Louise, My sincere sympathy on the loss of your beloved John. May you find comfort in all of the great memories you made together.

Mrs. Vance, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I learned much from John when I was assisting his graduate students at the Turbo lab. He will always be a memorable mentor for me in the field of turbo machinery instrumentation.

Dear Louise, my deep condolences on your loss of John in this life. I have worked with, been mentored by and known John for 50 years. He did some amazing things in engineering and his influence on me set a standard for me to live by. He seemed to have a knack for focusing in on the crux of an issue and explaining it in an understandable way; in rotor dynamics, in classical dynamics, and in sailing. He will be remembered by many of us as a great mentor, engineer, sailor, and gentle-person.

John leaves a legacy we will never forget. Please know that all of us at AYC have shared some wonderful experiences with John. His kindness, hard work and dedication carried into all that he did. May the memories of your years with John bring you smiles during this sad time.

Louise, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family for your loss. John will be missed.

Dear Louise and family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. We remember many good times at AYC. Our deepest condolences.
