Dear Ruth and family,
I was greatly saddened to hear of John's passing. I knew him for many years at 3M and greatly admired and respected him. He once gave me the plans for a small cabin sailboat that he built with his son. Although I never built the boat, we enjoyed many times discussing the project, and sailing in general. He was a brilliant man and consultant, and a wonderful person.
Please let me know when the memorial service will be, if it will be public.

Ken and I are deeply saddened to hear of your loss of John. He may be away from your sight, but never your memory. Away from your hearing but never your heart. Away from your touch but his presence is felt, and the love that he shared with you will never depart. Time stands still when you're missing someone you loved so much and healing often takes a long, winding path. We just want you to know you're very much in our thoughts.

Please accept our sincere sympathy. Jan was a gentleman and a gentle man. We fondly remember our visit and phone conversations as we worked out computer issues together.
