John Matthew Vaughn, 63, of Roanoke, VA, on Monday, September 6, 2021.  God called our dear beloved home to rest from labor.


He was born on June 25, 1958 in Henry County to the late John Percy Vaughn and the late Martha Wells Vaughn.  He worked for Bassett Furniture Industry (known as old town) for a number of years.  John was a well loved person, Kind and very sweet hearted person.  He attended the Only Way Church of Christ in Staurt, VA; at a young age where he was baptized.  He attended Patrick County Schools.


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Lonnie Vaughn; paternal grandparents, John and Mary Alice Easley Vaughn; maternal grandparents, Jessie and Irene Mans Wells; father-in-law, Richard Gopson, JR.; two brothers-in-law, Sheldon and Troy Dandridge


He leaves to morn and cherish his memories, his wife, Tina Marie Gipson Vaughn of Virginia Beach, VA; one brother, Laymond (Edwinda) Vaughn of Martinsville, VA; one god daughter, Enchanta Vaughn of Richmond, VA; mother-in-law, Esther Gipson of Martinsville, VA; sister-in-law, Dora Doumbia of Bassett, VA; two brothers-in-law, Irvin Gipson of Virginia Beach, VA and Cyrice Dandridge of Roanoke, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.


A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 13, 2021 at 2:00 PM Carver Memorial gardens in Martinsville.  Friends may come by the funeral home to view and sign the register on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM and Monday, September 13, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM without the family present. 


Due to the governor’s requirements for Covid-19, a face covering is recommended and social distancing is to be observed when visiting at the funeral home.
