John C. Volk

Tim, Tracey, Steve, Melissa and kids. It's bad enough to lose John, and then to lose Grandpa a week later. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I know what you're feeling and hope that you know I would have been there if I could have. It is so hard to pick up and go on without them, but we must, and we do.

To the Volk family:

I am really sorry to hear about the loss of John (Mr. Volk). From what little bit I knew him, he was a really sweet, honest, and caring person and he loved his job being a teacher. I just found out about it today. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

I was very sorry to read about the passing of John. He and I played fastpitch together and he was a very good hitter and a nice man. He drilled a ball up the alley one time in the 1979 ASA National tournament that made a star out of the center-fielder from California, Guanella Bros. I was a friend of John's from officiating and before that in good old Akron-Fairgrove country. To the family: Please take comfort in how much John was appreciated and will be missed. Very sorry for your loss.
