Not sure what to say?

I enjoyed practicing with you on the driving range as we both tried to learn the game of golf. God bless you and your family.

My dear friend John.. you lived life, you loved life and it gave you the greatest gift possible.. it loved you back. You will be remembered as one who cared and gave the best parts of himself to anyone in need. Thank you for being a part of my life.. my thoughts and prayers go to your family and those people fortunate enough to work with you.

I will miss seeing you in Houston...I am sure Houston will not quite have the same spark you provided for many years. ....Brent

John connected from his heart to another's. While he possessed a great understanding and appreciation for the aesthetic externals, he was not bound by the superficial or impressed by the trappings. He had extraordinary charisma and a truly joyful common touch. I think he would have loved the gospel music at the service, and I know there will be far fewer egg yolks discarded at "59"...There are so many of us who will miss him.

Sincere sympathy and prayers for Johnnie's family.

What a wonderful man, leader and friend. HRC will miss the grace and leadership he provided as a National Governor. Thank you John for all you have done.

With my deepest sympathy and thanks for all that John has done for the City, the Community and especially St. Paul's.

Respectfully,
David G. Puckett
