Not sure what to say?

Thank you for the photo of John. Gone, but not forgotten. I met John when he was older and resembled my father. He wanted to date. I couldn´t so he read an early manuscript and said "I can get you $100k for the 30 pages," but encouraged by the big payday on Into the Wild he encoraged me to always consider film rights. I miss him, he was serious about giving his best to writers, never ever put the damper on a good idea.

I met John Ware at the Hofstra Writers Conference in the summer of 1977 when he was meeting young writers just starting out and he had the patience to listen to me and give me advice that quickly led to my professional writing career. Although we lost touch over the years, I´ve thought of John often and hope he´s one of the five people I meet in heaven.

Good mad down...I was John's neighbor and client thirty years ago. Good man down...

John was the editor of my first book, Women in Prison, and was a dear friend for many years. Sending my warmest wishes to his sister Ellen and family.
