Not sure what to say?

John was a neighbor of my Dad for many years when my sister Kari and I were children. I read the guest book entries about how smart he was, and beloved. My memories of him go even beyond that. We loved him so much as children- we could tell how much he loved us. He would often hang outside our condos, watering the grass, and he used to play with my sister and I by squirting us with the hose. He showed me how to garden in his backyard- he was an avid composter. His pomegranate tree was the...

Dr. John Warren was a beloved friend of my family.

He worked with my mother, Dr. Agnes P. Lockette at UNLV for at least a decade in Las Vegas, NV. Although the friendship extended beyond their employment, through to retirement and then some.

They both loved sharing gardening, cooking, political, education, current event, and many other topics of conversation over the phone.

Dr. Warren would remark on how each would knock on the wall between their offices at...

Gosh I didn't want to be in Dr. Warren's reading methods class at UNLV. He was known as a tough task master, his students worked harder, (and learned more) than in any other class. Graduating from UNLV in 1979, I've now retired after 33+ years. It's been said that a great teacher never knows the extent of their influence on others. How true for Dr. Warren. My accomplishments are his accomplishments: Nevada Teacher of the Year finalist, Christa McAuliffe Fellowship, etc. Some of MY...

Dr. Warren was my mentor and friend at UNLV. I shall miss him. May he rest in peace.

Dr. John Warren was my friend and classmate at Normal Community High School in Normal Illinois. John was one of the kindest and most considerate persons I have ever known. His intelligence was obvious and I sometimes asked for his help when school lessons became difficult to understand, especially in literature class. He only shared his knowledge when asked a question. His insights made difficult classes very understandable. Through the years we kept in touch through our high school classs...

May your soul rest in peace.

Dr Warren was my 5th grade teacher at Eugene Field Elementary school, Normal Il in 1958. I was a member of his first class after his Navy service. He remained in touch with me and fellow classmates until his death. He was a great role model and teacher for many students. His gentleness and warmth will be missed by all who knew him. I will miss his annual Christmas card and letter and his beautiful penmanship. Rest in peace my friend.
