John Thomas Way

My heartfelt condolences to all of John's family. I was reading a story in the news today about a school guidance counselor who helped a student through a tough time. It reminded me of my own time at Lake Braddock and the support Mr. Way provided me. I started trying to look him up to thank him and found this unfortunate news. To all of Mr. Way's family please know that John's passion is still present in this world thanks to all he did for the students he worked with.

Thank you, all. Despite his 15 years living in Virginia, John did his best to be there in every way for our son Tom. Although divorced since 1999, John and I remained in close touch on Tom's behalf (now 27). His passing is a huge loss for Tom, who is so thankful for your thoughtfulness about his dad.

John was a fantastic mentor, friend and dedicated guidance counselor to both my boys who attended Lake Braddock High School. We so enjoyed his sense of humor. He went above and beyond on numerous occasions for both of our boys. We will miss him. Lisa, Geoff, Matthew and Nick Abbott

I was deeply saddened to learn of John's passing. He was a much younger cousin of mine. I remember the great joy, happiness and excitement in the whole family when John came into it. Visits to his family's home when we were young and they lived in DuBois were fun. Tom, as we called him then, was a very bright, thoughtful youngster. My condolences to all of John's family. We were friends in elementary school at William Penn in Bethel Park. We would occasionally run into each other when he worked for Superior Valve. We lost touch after he moved. He was a good man.

My condolences to John's family, I was in his homeroom during our high school years. May the light shine on John as he travels to that undiscovered land from who's born, no traveler returns.

So sorry to hear of John's passing. Always enjoyed seeing John, Lauren and Tom. You will all always be family to us. Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

John was my brother in law,and always will be. I only remember the good times- the fun vacations and time spend with him, Lauren and Tom and his hilarious parodies and stories. He will always be one of the smartest, wittiest and generous human beings I have ever known. I still think of the humorous sayings he coined that still have me laughing today. He is in Heaven with Doug, laughing it up Im sure. Rest in peace John Way.
