John Weber Obituary

John "Jack" Weber
July 19, 1930-March 20, 2013
Jack Weber, age 82, left our world as we know it on his own terms this week, living his life beyond his wildest expectations spending winters in Sarasota, Fla. Survived by his wife, MaryAnn (Haas) they just celebrated their 63rd anniversary. Quite an accomplishment for a man who always knew what he wanted including the love of his life whom on their first date he told he wanted to hear the pitter patter of little feet. And pitter patter is what he heard producing four children, Donna Blizman (Kevin) of Sarasota, Dan Weber (Nadine) of Loveland, Ohio, Kevin Weber (deceased) and Kelly Shuptrine (Dr. John) of Lynchburg, Va. Jack's roots ran deep in Tuscarawas County (Dover-New Philadelphia), Ohio where he knew every high school athlete and statistic imaginable. His love of the area took him back to Ohio every summer like a true snowbird. His last 20 years of retirement provided him the pleasure of golf which was more about friendship than score but we humored him just the same. Retirement also opened the door for Jack and his older brother, Kenny Weber of New Philadelphia, Ohio to develop a lasting friendship. His friends were numerous and he never met a stranger. His incessant need to keep up on current events, to read the morning paper from beginning to end and to pass that info on to innocent bystanders, forever drove his wife crazy. His entertainment of penny slots gave him great joy and was shared by many fellow friends. A lover of all animals with a list of furry friends from Bootsy, Gretchen, Buffy and Bailey. He loved hugs, kisses and jokes and was always on the receiving end of one or another. He loved keeping track of his grandchildren all over the world, Beau Blizman of Sarasota Fla., Brooke (Blizman) and spouse, Bo Burkman of Knoxville, Tenn., Cassi (Weber) and spouse, George Frank of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeremy Weber and spouse, Theresa of Norfolk, Va., Chris Shuptrine of Boston, Mass., and Casey Shuptrine of Washington, DC. He traveled to any length to attend a wedding or graduation. A lie never touched Jack's lips and his moral compass was passed on down the line to all his children and grandchildren. We will forever remember his good humor and sweet smile. May he rest in eternal peace.
Florida memorial services will be held Friday, March 29, 7 p.m. at the Cypress Room at Sun n Fun RV Resort, 7125 E. Fruitville Rd., Sarasota Fla. Dear MaryAnn,
Norma and I extend to you our sincere sympathy for your loss of your husband Jack. I know you had a lot of good years together but there never is enough. These are difficult times because we have so many questions and so few answers. We must put our trust in God that our Savior knows best. I always enjoyed Jack at our class reunions. He really fit in. Anything I ever wanted to know about the Ohio State football game being played at the time he would share with me. I am just sorry we never got together here in Florida. Norma and I send our very best wishes to you and your family-----Bill Goodwin
