Miss you dad

John Arthur Weeks in life was so beloved by his parents and siblings, and so devoted to them in turn, we have a story so rich and rarely told, yet so important for these times! So many know of him, through his tireless work for the environmental concerns of New York State, yet he was a devoted son and family man of the greatest humor, possessing the ability to whistle like many a bird, sing in a beautiful tenor, and create a separate bedtime story and song, for each of his five children!...

As a student at SUNY Oswego in the mid-1990s, I worked at WRVO and had the honor of being one of the engineers who worked with John. It was always such a pleasure when he came in to record Nature of Things. He was always so kind and friendly, the whole staff just loved him. My heartfelt condolences to your family.

I, too, was saddened to learn of the death of your Dad, John Week’s, and also of your Mom, Esther. They were such a remarkable and special couple. I loved your parents dearly. I got to know them through your Dad’s involvement at Sterling Nature Center in the mid 1990’s. My husband and I were charter members and worked with your Dad to develop this awesome nature center. John, along with his wife, Esther, were people of great faith and followers of Jesus. They spent many years at Grace Chapel, where John faithfully served as elder, and led the Saturday morning men’s prayer breakfast for many years. They were pillars of wisdom to a church that was young and growing. They will be greatly missed, but welcomed into Heaven. He will be hearing “Well done my good and faithful servant”

What a wonderful contribution John made to so many lives over the years. I feel fortunate to have known him, shared in some walks, and enjoyed his company many times at Baltimore Woods. Condolences to his family.
