Avenidas Funeral Chapel - Avondale Obituary

On April 22, 2025 my dear sweet husband went home to Jesus. We shared 54 years of marriage filled with memories and the raising of our two sons Matt and Peter. John was born August 24, 1947, to Jack and Ricky Wendt of Colorado Springs. He enjoyed a great childhood growing up in the 50's making...

Not sure what to say?

Jill, I just learned of John´s passing and am so saddened to hear of it. He was such a funny, sweet, talented man and always had a positive outlook. I have thought of you often through the years, and treasure the friendship and good times we shared. John really was an amazing man, and the relationship the two of you shared was a treasure. I will continue to think of you often, and smile at the memories with love.

So sorry for your loss. He was a special person.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

John was the sweetest, kindest guy around. We all loved him. One of Bob´s good friends. Rest in Peace Johnny!!!

UPDATE.. August 27, 2025 11:00 Pikes Peak National Cemetery in Colorado Springs.

Heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to you, Jill, Tricia, and Suzzan. I remember well when John was injured and returned from Vietnam. My brother, Andy, was a classmate of John's and was in Vietnam during that time. Andy died as a result of agent orange, and I share your loss. Jill, what a beautiful tribute and description of his life and loves, thank you for sharing.

I am sorry to hear of John's passing. My heart goes out to both of your families, Wendt and Hagopian.

Sorry to read of your loss - I know many of your family, Rickie, Suzy, Tricia (Wayne) all through John as he used to serve as a scorekeeper for us for softball games, mostly at Memorial Park. Your description of him is how I have always remembered him though that was many years ago. Bless you.

I didn´t know John but what a beautiful story, I´m sorry for your loss, RIP
